Goleta Valley Tennis Academy offers small group and private tennis instruction for both adults and children. Established by Peter Gerstenfeld in 1989 with just a few private clients, GVTA has grown over the years, adding group classes, camps, and clinics.


These include the On-Site After School Program, which brings tennis to the students of local schools. Peter's enthusiasm and love of the game, coupled with his skills and years of experience, create the signature GVTA atmosphere--Learn skills, improve your game and have fun doing it!!


Lessons cover the basics of tennis-ground strokes, volleys, serves and game rules and strategy-presented in an engaging and energetic format. Students move thru drills and games created to provide repetitive practice of the skills demonstrated over the class session. As groups advance, more emphasis is placed on singles and doubles along with point construction.
